Open Enrollment into the Rice Lake Area School District

"You don’t live in the Rice Lake Area School District? You can still go to school here!"

Even if you live outside the Rice Lake Area School District, your child can still take advantage of all the fantastic opportunities our Rice Lake Schools offer! The inter-district public school open enrollment program allows parents to apply for their children to attend the Rice Lake Area School District rather than the one in which they reside.

Any Wisconsin resident between 4K and 12th Grade may apply to attend the Rice Lake Area School District.

[However, under the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction rules, a child may transfer to Rice Lake for early education or 4K only if the child’s resident school district offers the same type of program, and that child is eligible for that program in their home district.]

The open enrollment application period to attend the Rice Lake Area School District for the 2018-19 school years, begins on February 5th, 2018 and ends at 4:00 pm on April 30th, 2018
The best way to open enroll your child in the Rice Lake Area School District is to apply online during the application period listed above.

There are opportunities to open enroll in the Rice Lake Area School District outside of the normal open enrollment period, but certain criteria must be met according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

For a list of those criteria, or to discover more information about open enrolling in a Rice Lake school, discover the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction website, or contact the Rice Lake School District Administration office.
